DIRECTIONS : Questions based on directions are of set patterns and hence follows set of rules.

6.	A man is facing south. He turns 135° in the anti clockwise direction and then 180° in the clockwise direction. Which directions is he facing now?
	A.  North-east C.  South-east	B.  North-west D.  South-wests
	Ans : D. The man initially faces in the directions OA. On moving 135° anti-clockwise, he faces in the direction OB. On further moving 180° clockwise, he faces in the direction OC, which is South-West.

7.	Manick walked 40 metres towards North, took a left turn and walked 20 metres. He again took a left turn and walked 40 metres. How far and in which direction is he from the starting point?
	A. 20 m east C. 100 m south	B. 20 m north D. None of these
	Ans : D. The movements of manick are as shown in figure. (A to B, B to C, and C to D). clearly, ABCD is a rectangle and so AD = BC = 20 m. Thus, D is 20 m to the west of A.

8.	Going 50 m to the south of her house, Radhika turns left and goes another 20 m. Then, turning to the North, she goes 30 m and then starts walking to her house. In which direction is she walking now?
	A.  North-west C.  South-east	B.  North D.  East
	Ans : A. The movements of Radhika are as shown in figure. ( A to B, B to C, C to D and D to A ). Clearly, she is finally moving in the direction DA . i.e. North-west.

9.	Laxman went 15 kms to the west from my house, then turned left and walked 20 kms. He then returned East and walked 25 kms and finally, turning left covered 20 kms. How far was he from his house?
	A.  5 kms C.  40 kms	B.  10 kms D.  80 kms
	Ans : B. The movements of Laxman are as shown in figure.Therefore, Laksman's Distance from his house at A = AE = (BE - Ba) = (CD - BA) = (25 - 15 ) m = 10 m.

10.	Amit walked 30 metres towards East, took a right turn and walked 40 metres. Then he took a left turn and walked 30 metres. In which direction is he now from the starting point?
	A.  North-east C.  South-east	B.  East D.  South
	Ans : C. The movements of Amit are as shown in figure. (P to Q, Q to R and R to S). Clearly, his final position is S which is to the South-east of the starting point P.
